Defected Lawmakers Trapped After Being Promised Automatic APC Tickets, Says Analyst

Political analyst, Sumner Sambo, says many lawmakers, who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, were promised automatic tickets in next year’s general elections.

Sambo said this on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’.

He said that some lawmakers claimed that what they were promised was not what they had been assured.

“President Tinubu has said he will see what he can do with the party leadership.

“Lawmakers said what they were promised is not what they are being assured. They were told they would be given an automatic ticket, especially those who were asked to defect to the APC.

“And now the APC is asking them to go through their governors first. So if your governor doesn’t like your face, or you haven’t been playing your politics with your governor, then that means it’s gone.

“So some of them are trapped in a bubble,” he said.
