DBN, Enugu Government Launch High–Impact Entrepreneurship Training with ₦5m Grants Up for Grabs

Enugu, Nigeria – The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN), in collaboration with the Enugu State Government through the Enugu SME Centre and Office of Digital Economy, has unveiled the DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program (DETP), Enugu Edition, a transformative initiative designed to equip small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for scalable growth and access to funding.

 

The program is targeted at business owners in Enugu and Abia who are ready to formalise and expand their enterprises. Participants will undergo 11 self-paced, world-class business courses covering Accounting, Credit Management, Marketing, and Sustainability. Successful candidates will earn official DBN certificates, giving their businesses credibility and boosting investor confidence.

 

A three-day in-person workshop, scheduled for November 10–14, 2025, will bring participants together with top entrepreneurs, business coaches, and financial institutions for intensive learning and high-level networking. The highlight is a pitch competition, where selected finalists will compete for a share of the ₦100 million DBN grant pool, with up to ₦5 million available per business.

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

Businesses must be CAC-registered and have operated for at least two years.

 

Applicants must be based in Enugu or Abia State.

 

Participants must complete the full online training curriculum before the October 31, 2025 deadline.

 

 

The initiative is designed for entrepreneurs across sectors, from fashion and food processing to tech startups, who want to structure their operations for sustainable growth, become funding-ready, and pitch to real investors.
