Davido drops custody battle for his daughter Imade following an unpleasant comment from his ex, Sophia Momodu’s lawyer during court proceedings

Singer Davido says he will be dropping the custody battle for his first child and daughter, Imade.

The singer and Imade’s mum, Sophia Momodu, were in court yesterday, February 13, for hearing on the lawsuit he filed demanding for joint custody of Imade.

According to reports, the court proceedings was going on well until Sophia’s lawyer asked how he would be able to guarantee Imade’s safety when he was unable to protect his son, Ifeanyi, who passed away in October 2022.

The lawyer’s comment ticked Davido who reportedly lost his cool and slammed the lawyer inside the courtroom. The court proceedings was halted for a while and when the court reconvened, the judge asked Davido to apologise to the court and the lawyer but the singer reportedly refused, insisting he can never apologise to the lawyer for using his deceased son against him.

In a post shared on his X handle this evening, Davido pointed out that no one won in this case and that the only person who lost is Imade. He mentioned that he has dropped the case and that Imade will grow up knowing that he fought for her.
