The Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has directed that rescue mission be continued into the accident that occurred along the Enyigba area of Enyigba community, in the Ikwo Local Government Area.
Recall that on Saturday an unidentified vehicle plunged into a mining pit in the area.
A lecturer at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, in Ebonyi State, Akachukwu Offia, had said on Saturday that the vehicle had over 10 persons.
However, a source on Sunday said, “The affected vehicle was a Volkswagen Golf and couldn’t have taken more than four persons.”

The source, who claimed to be an indigene of the area, said he saw when the car skidded into the pit.
But Umahi, who visited the scene on Sunday around 6pm, was full emotion as he didn’t talk much.
After a while, “Rescue mission must continue tomorrow (Monday).”
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs Loveth Odah, had said the police contacted local divers who had been unsuccessfully trying to bring the body of the victims out.
