An Enugu State Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of 51-year-old Emeka Emmanuel Nwangwu, a member of a neighbourhood security watch group, for the alleged m8rder of his 19-year-old female cousin, Loveth Uloma Nwangwu, in the Nsukka Local Government Area.

The spokesperson FOR the Enugu State Police Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, who disclosed this in a statement said Nwangwu was arraigned on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, after the conclusion of investigations by the State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID).

The PPRO said the arraignment followed the directive of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa.

Recall that the suspect was arrested on 1st December 2025 in Nsukka, following an incident in which he violently assaulted the deceased, resulting in injuries that tragically led to her d3ath.

The unfortunate incident occurred days after she accused him of years of s3xual abuse and threats to her life.

Upon his arrest, the CP Giwa, directed the State CID to conduct a meticulous investigation and ensure that the case was promptly charged to court.

“Consequently, the suspect has been arraigned before the Enugu State Magistrate Court on a one-count charge of m8rder,” the statement read.

“The Court ordered his remand and directed that the case file be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice, through the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), for review and legal advice.

“CP Giwa again expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, urging them to find comfort in the fact that justice is already in motion, as the investigation has been concluded and the suspect has been arraigned and remanded accordingly.”

The suspect was appointed the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Ibeku Opi earlier this year.
