Cleric urges Buhari to declare prayer day

The President of the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, Pastor Sampson Igwe, has urged the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to declare a national day of prayer for the country.

Igwe stated this during a press briefing to announce the church’s 7th quadrennial convention, scheduled to hold at the international convention grounds, Olorunda, Ketu, Lagos, between February 12 to 14, 2021.

The cleric said, “I strongly believe that if the nation calls upon God in prayer, God will hear the prayer of the people and heal the land.

“We must all become security officers. If we are serious about keeping this country safe, we should not leave it to the security agencies alone. We must be ready to report suspicious individuals when the need arises.”

Igwe noted that the church would use the convention to pray for the healing of the country, adding that it would usher in a new dawn for the country.
