Chelsea report to Police after £30,000 worth of equipment goes missing from their training ground

Premier League club Chelsea has called in the police after £30,000 worth of high-tech camera equipment used in training disappeared from their Cobham headquarters.

According to The Sun, the club called Surrey Police over the missing gear.

While it is not currently known whether the equipment had simply been mislaid, the incident has been deemed suspicious enough for the police to become involved.

First-team players returned to Cobham earlier this week ahead of the start of the new Premier League season next weekend.

But as reported by The Sun, Chelsea noticed the disappearance of camera gear worth around £30k and contacted Surrey Police.

It is said that the equipment may have simply been misplaced and could reappear once club staff return from their summer breaks.

However, Chelsea still called the police due to the suspicious incident.

Like many elite football clubs, the Blues use a variety of camera tech for training and social media purposes.

Footage from the training ground and matches helps players improve their tactics, as well as physical, technical, and mental performance.

Chelsea’s training base, which reportedly cost £20m, sits less than 20 miles south-west of Stamford Bridge.
