Head coach of the Brazilian national football team, Carlo Ancelotti, has named four clubs as favourites to win this season’s UEFA Champions League.
Ancelotti made the statement ahead of this week’s Champions League fixtures scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Italian tactician listed Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich as his top contenders for the title.
“Seen from the other side of the world, the Champions League has the usual favourites: Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich,” Ancelotti told Tutto Sport.
“In these first few matchdays, we’ve seen games with a lot of goals, and such sensational results sometimes make us lose interest. This first phase has been expanded to make it more interesting, yet it is not turning out that way. We have to accept that.”
Ancelotti has previously won the Champions League as manager of both Real Madrid and AC Milan.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are the current holders of the competition, having defeated Inter Milan 5–0 in last season’s final.
