Calabar to Host 2026 NWFL Championship in July

The 2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship will be held in Calabar, bringing together 16 teams from the Nationwide Division to compete for promotion to the country’s top-flight women’s league.

The championship, which serves as the promotion playoff to the NWFL Premiership, is scheduled to take place from Thursday, July 9, to Thursday, July 16, 2026.

At the end of the tournament, the top two teams will secure promotion to the NWFL Premiership, while the three lowest-ranked teams will be relegated to the NWFL Nationwide Division.

The week-long competition is expected to provide an opportunity for the participating clubs to battle for elite status in Nigerian women’s football.
