Brothers kill sibling over inheritance dispute in Anambra

A 37-year-old man has been k!lled by his brothers following a violent dispute over family inheritance in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra,

 

 

 

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at about 4:50 p.m. on February 11, 2026, at Umunkwo Village, Ula, Ekwulobia.

 

 

 

The victim, identified as Onyedika Okpala, was reportedly attacked with machetes by two of his brothers, Okwudili Okpala and Chigbo Okpala, during a heated argument over property and inheritance rights.

 

 

 

According to a family source, the suspects inflicted severe injuries on the victim’s head, causing him to bleed profusely and collapse unconscious at the scene.

 

 

 

A report was made to the Police by the victim’s sister. A team of operatives was immediately dispatched to the area, but the suspects had fled before their arrival.

 

 

 

The victim was evacuated to the General Hospital, Ekwulobia, where a doctor on duty confirmed him d3ad on arrival.

 

 

 

His corpse has been deposited in the hospital morgue for autopsy. Investigation has commenced, while efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
