BREAKING: Trump Says U.S. Carried Out Strikes On Terrorists In Nigeria

According to Trump, the militants had been “viciously killing, primarily innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even centuries.” He added that he had previously warned the groups to stop the killings or face consequences.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said the United States carried out what he described as “numerous precise strikes” against terrorists in northwest Nigeria, claiming they were responsible for mass killings of Christians.

In a statement released on December 25, Trump said the operation was conducted under his authority as Commander-in-Chief and targeted ISIS-linked fighters operating in parts of Nigeria that have suffered years of violence and insecurity.

According to Trump, the militants had been “viciously killing, primarily innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even centuries.” He added that he had previously warned the groups to stop the killings or face consequences.

“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorist scum in northwest Nigeria,” Trump said. “I previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughter of Christians, there would be hell to pay—and tonight, there was.”

Trump claimed the operation was executed by the U.S. Department of War, describing the strikes as “numerous perfect strikes” and asserting that the United States would not allow what he called “radical Islamic terrorism” to prosper under his leadership.

“May God bless our military, and Merry Christmas to all including the dead terrorists,” he added.

The Nigerian government later confirmed, through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, that strikes had occurred in parts of northern Nigeria. However, authorities did not provide details on the nature of the operation or the extent of Nigeria’s involvement.
