New directive harmonizes electronic device use on Nigerian flights
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed that all passengers must completely switch off their mobile phones during aircraft take-off and landing.
The announcement was made on Tuesday via a post on X by Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA. He explained that the new directive aligns regulations on the use of phones and other electronic devices during flights across Nigeria.
According to him, the decision followed an emergency meeting with industry stakeholders earlier in the day.
Further details are expected from the NCAA in the coming days.
