*Breaking : Awgu LGA Headquarters Hosts Enugu Governor’s Wife on Familiarization Tour of Enugu West Senatorial Zone*

 

The Awgu Local Government Area Headquarters served as the venue for a significant gathering as the First Lady of Enugu State, Her Excellency Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, commenced her familiarization visit to the Enugu West Senatorial Zone today, 14th June 2025.

This event marks a pivotal moment for the five local governments within the Enugu West Senatorial District—Udi, Eziagu, Oji River, Aninri, and Awgu—bringing together a diverse array of dignitaries and community leaders. Attendees included Senator Osita Ngwu, who represents the Enugu West Senatorial District, Dr. Sir Martin Chukwunweike, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, and Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly. Also present were Barr. Victor Udeh, Chief of Staff to the Enugu State Government, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA, along with other local government chairmen, members of the Enugu West House of Assembly, wives of local government chairmen, PDP chairmen, Hon. Commissioners, and traditional rulers from the region Among many others.

In a heartfelt welcome address, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo expressed his profound gratitude to both the Governor and the First Lady for their transformative leadership in the state. He emphasized the importance of their continued support, particularly as the Governor prepares for re-election in 2027. “We are grateful for the opportunity to serve under your visionary leadership, and we assure you of our unwavering commitment to your administration,” Okolo stated.

Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah’s familiarization tour aims to foster goodwill and strengthen the relationship between the government and the constituents of the Enugu West Senatorial Zone. Through direct engagement with community leaders and residents, the First Lady seeks to better understand the needs and aspirations of the people, reinforcing the government’s commitment to responsive governance and community development.
