The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has received a major political boost following his endorsement for a second term in office by the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Barr. Peter Mbah.
The endorsement has been widely described as a strong vote of confidence in Okolo’s leadership style, administrative achievements, and commitment to grassroots development across Awgu LGA.
Reacting to the development, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity to the Awgu Council Chairman, congratulated the council boss on what he termed a “well-deserved endorsement,” noting that the gesture by Governor Mbah reflects the chairman’s outstanding performance and dedication to public service.
According to him, Hon. Okolo’s administration has continued to distinguish itself through impactful infrastructural projects, inclusive governance, and people-oriented policies that have positively transformed communities within the local government area.
He further stated that the endorsement serves as clear evidence of the confidence reposed in the Awgu council chairman by the state government and the people, owing to his commitment to excellence, accountability, and sustainable development.

He expressed optimism that another term in office would provide Hon. Okolo with greater opportunities to consolidate on existing achievements and deliver more democratic dividends to the people of Awgu.
