BREAKING: APC HANDS OKOLO CERTIFICATE OF RETURN AFTER LANDSLIDE AWGU PRIMARY VICTORY

The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has officially received his Certificate of Return from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Enugu State Chapter, following his overwhelming victory in the party’s chairmanship primary election held on May 26, 2026.

The certificate was presented on Wednesday , May 27, at the APC State Secretariat in Enugu by the State Chairman of the party, Dr. Martins Chukwunwike, amid celebration by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters.

The presentation formally confirms Hon. Okolo as the APC Chairmanship Flag Bearer for the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Awgu Local Government Area.

The development comes barely 24 hours after the Awgu council boss secured a massive victory during the peaceful and high-turnout APC primary election conducted across the eleven political wards in the local government area.

Party faithful and observers described the exercise as transparent, credible, and a reflection of the growing unity and strength of the APC structure in Awgu.

Speaking shortly after receiving the Certificate of Return, Hon. Okolo expressed deep appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and members across Awgu and Enugu state for the trust and confidence reposed in him.

He described his emergence as a collective victory for the people of Awgu and reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining development, inclusive governance, and people-oriented leadership across the local government area.

Hon. Okolo also commended the Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and commitment to democratic growth and development in the state.

Political analysts believe the latest development has further positioned the APC strongly ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Enugu State.
