BREAKING: Angry Youths Protest, Demand Justice For Colleague Killed By Policeman Over N50 Bribe In Taraba

Some youths have taken over the streets to protest against the killing of a young man identified as Oliver Ezra allegedly shot and killed by a policeman. 

The youths are demanding justice for Ezra who was killed in Jalingo, the capital city of Taraba State.

UGAMATV gathered that Ezra was shot after he refused to pay N50 bribe to the yet-to-be-identified police officer.

The deceased was said to have been shot by the police officer at the Kpantina Kpu checkpoint, just after a banner announcing ‘Welcome to Jalingo’. 

He was shot on Friday, November 19, around 7:00 pm.

The deceased, who was rushed to the hospital after he was shot, died in the early hours of Tuesday.

A source told UGAMATV that Ezra was shot by “the police at Kpantina Kpu checkpoint just after ‘Welcome to Jalingo’ over N50 bribe”

“We staged a protest in front of the Government House this morning, and at roadblock. As I speak with you, we are protesting at Mile 6 market with the presence of NSCDC (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps). 

The protesting youths blocked the roads with tyres and planks of wood, preventing motorists from plying the roads. 

They also displayed placards with different inscriptions calling for justice for Ezra. 

The angry protesters have also taken to social media demanding from relevant authorities that the culprit be adequately brought to justice.

They have also initiated a movement with the hashtag— #Justice4Oliver.

One of the angry youths, Gusto Solomon Daniels, said on his Facebook page, “Let justice be done even if Heavens fall.”
