President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu were formally welcomed on Wednesday by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle.
The reception, shared in a video online by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, showed the Nigerian leader receiving full ceremonial honours. A 42-gun salute was fired by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, while both Nigerian and British flags lined the streets of Windsor.
According to Olusegun, the President and First Lady were officially introduced to members of the Royal Family by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
The two-day state visit, hosted by King Charles III, is focused on strengthening bilateral relations and establishing new agreements between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
As part of the schedule, a state banquet is set to take place at St George’s Hall on Wednesday evening, with the King, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales expected to attend.
