Benfica Confirm Exit of Nigerian Super Falcons Star

Super Falcons midfielder, Christy Ucheibe, has left Portuguese club Benfica following the expiration of her contract.

Ucheibe spent six years with the Eagles following her arrival from Swedish club, Assi Idrottsförening in 2000.

The 25-year-old scored 11 goals in 179 appearances across all competitions for Benfica.

The versatile midfielder enjoyed a trophy laden career with Benfica winning six league titles,  two Portuguese Cups, five League Cups, and two Super Cups.

Ucheibe will now follow a new path in her professional career after leaving Benfica.

She is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
