Bandits Free Nigerian Customs Officer In Zamfara After Collecting Ransom

An abducted Nigerian Customs Service personnel, Mr. Mahasam Awal, was on Wednesday night freed by bandits.


Awal was kidnapped last Friday in Tsafe town of Zamfara State by some gunmen suspected to be bandits.


The kidnappers had demanded a ransom payment of N5million when Awal was taken away but the amount was later increased to N10million.


Awal regained his freedom after the payment of an undisclosed amount of money as ransom to the kidnappers by his family, family sources revealed.


It was learnt that Awal had been taken to a hospital in Gusau, for medical examination and attention.
