Baba Ijesha: Iyabo apologises to TAMPAN, Jide Kosoko, Oga Bello, Yinka Quadri

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has apologised to the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria days after she was issued a stern warning over her outburst on social media on the ongoing trial of the embattled actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, fondly known as Baba Ijesha.

Baba Ijesha has been charged with indecent treatment of a child, defilement of a child, sexual assault by penetration, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault, which contravene sections 135, 137, 261, 202, 262 and 263 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

The ongoing case had made Iyabo Ojo take to social media on several occasions to air her opinion on the matter.

Apparently, her acts and comments did not sit well with the Board of Trustees of TAMPPAN and the Elders of Nigerian Motion Picture Industry as a stern warning was issued to her and fellow actress, Nkechi Blessing.

The guild accused them of making reckless accusations, abuses and bringing embarrassment to the association and the movie industry as a whole.

Days after, the delectable actress has taken to her verified Instagram page to apologise to TAMPAN.

Sharing a video recording of a live session with the President of TAMPPAN, Mr Latin, the actress wrote, “I would like to say thank you to @esabodofficialpage. God bless you ma, Agba yin a dale. I so much appreciate you mama & Love you.

“First & foremost, I want to appreciate God almighty, all mercifully, I love you Lord & I thank you for your constant protection, provision and guidance over me & my family. I’m forever grateful.”

She continued, “I will also want to use this opportunity to say a very BIG thank you to all my darling fans and loved ones for your constant love & support … honestly I’m so overwhelmed & humbled, I will never take it for granted.

“To an able & ever-humble president of Tampan @mrlatin1510 thank you very much, sir. Our big daddies @adebayo.salami @princejidekosoko @realyinkaquadri, on behalf of @nkechiblessingsunday my darling aburo & my humble self, we apologise to you sirs. We’re sorry for getting you upset. You’re our elders & leaders; we respect you, we’re humbled before you, we will forever appreciate you & honour you. It’s all Peace & Love.”(sic)

In the Instagram live chat, Mr Latin said, “If a person has 100 cows in his care and one goes astray, the person will go and look for the stray cow as a good leader. So, I cannot neglect Iyabo, neither can I do the same thing for Nkechi. Where she had offended has been amended.

“As leaders and elders, we have to embrace them more for things to go on peacefully. The improvement of our industry is what is paramount to us.”
