Army set to launch Operation Golden Down in Enugu to fight crime, insecurity

The Nigerian Army has began three exercises nationwide to curb the increasing rate of crime and insecurity in the South East.

The exercise which is aimed at fighting criminality in the country were code named Golden Dawn, Enduring Peace and Still Water

In a statement made by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General, Onyema Nwachukwu, titled “COAS flags-off Exercises Golden Dawn, Enduring Peace and Still Water nationwide”, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, would flag off all the exercises in Enugu State, adding that the exercise is designed to minimize crimes in the state especially as the festive season is fast approaching.

He further urged residents not to panic sighting movement of troops and equipment.
