Angry Youths Block Abuja-Makurdi Highway Over Benue Killings

Angry youths in Benue State on Sunday blocked the Abuja-Makurdi highway in protest over the relentless killings in the state. Dressed in black and wielding placards and palm fronds, the demonstrators barricaded the busy road, disrupting traffic and causing panic among commuters.

The protest follows a deadly attack on Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area, where suspected armed herdsmen reportedly killed over 200 people within 24 hours.

Despite a government warning against unauthorized gatherings, the protesting youths said they feel abandoned. They demanded urgent security intervention and justice for victims, insisting that silence and inaction are no longer acceptable.
