Anambra Decides: Party agents, voters await voting materials in Mgbakwu

With over two hours into the voting exercise in the Anambra State governorship election, the people of Mgbakwu area of the state are still awaiting voting materials.

Party agents and voters were seen sitting at the Central School lamenting the non-arrival of materials. The school houses the two units in the town.

Honourable Benneth Aniezeofor, one of the party agents said that the development will have a negative effect on the election as people may lose interest in the exercise.

He said, “Late arrival of materials will disenfranchise many voters. People might run out of patience and leave; that is not good for the election.”

Another residence, who pleaded anonymity said he got information that the vehicle conveying the materials to the community broke down on the way.

He said, “We called them and they told us the material is on the way. We also got the information that the vehicle being used to convey the material developed a fault on the way. One can only hope that the materials will arrive. We have to vote.”

He said, “I am far away at Aghamelum now, please make a report to my HOD in the office, maybe there is some problem.”
