Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has paid a condolence visit to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over the death of his mother.

 

Amaechi who visited El-Rufai on Saturday slammed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, for releasing the former governor without a court order.

 

El-Rufai had lost his mother on Friday afternoon after battling age-related health challenges, which worsened in recent times.

 

Recall that El-Rufai was released from the custody of the ICPC on Friday night on compassionate grounds to enable him to attend his mother’s burial

 

Reacting, Amaechi said, “To show you that the government knows what they’re doing, they just released him (El-Rufai) without a court order.”
