Aligning with Gov. Mbah’s Inclusive Development Vision, Hon. Uche Okolo Expands Awgu Water-for-All Initiative to Ogbuanyanwu Nenwenta & Ezineri Mgbidi

In another decisive step toward achieving sustainable grassroots development and improving the welfare of Ndi Awgu, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has flagged off the construction of two solar-powered borehole projects in Ogbuanyanwu Nenwenta Community and Ezineri Mgbidi Community under the ongoing “Awgu Water-for-All Initiative.”

With these new projects, Hon. Okolo’s administration has successfully advanced its target of delivering 25 solar-powered boreholes across the LGA, with 18 already completed. This achievement underscores his administration’s unwavering commitment to providing clean and safe drinking water for every community in Awgu, while aligning seamlessly with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s grassroots-inclusive developmental vision for Enugu State.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, the Chairman emphasized that the initiative represents a strategic investment in public health, community empowerment, and sustainable development.

“This project goes beyond providing water; it is about restoring hope, improving health, and enhancing the quality of life for our people. Our mission is clear — no ward, no village, and no family in Awgu will be left behind,” Hon. Okolo stated.

The flag-off of these twin borehole projects comes on the heels of several other landmark initiatives under Hon. Okolo’s leadership, including the One Ward, One Kilometer Road Project across all eleven wards in Awgu LGA and the ongoing 3.5-kilometer Awgu–Ugwueme Road Project, which was flagged off on August 23, 2025.

Hon. Okolo reaffirmed his commitment to complementing Governor Mbah’s transformative agenda by driving impactful projects that deliver direct benefits to the people at the grassroots level.

The residents of Ogbuanyanwu Nenwenta and Ezineri Mgbidi communities expressed deep appreciation to the Chairman, describing the borehole projects as a lifeline that will improve hygiene, enhance public health, and stimulate socio-economic development.

With the successful flag-off of these projects, the Awgu Water-for-All Initiative continues to gain momentum, reinforcing Hon. Uche Okolo’s vision of inclusive growth, sustainable development, and accountable leadership for the good people of Awgu LGA.
