Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, has dismissed claims made by a former Department of State Services (DSS) operative about the circumstances surrounding Abacha’s death, describing the account as false.

Speaking with journalists in Kaduna, Al-Mustapha said the claims contained in the former DSS official’s book did not reflect what truly happened. He alleged that the author was influenced by others to write the account.

“The boy was asked to write the lies by others. I have all the CCTV footages of what happened in my custody, so what he said are not true,” he said.

Al-Mustapha insisted he possesses evidence to contradict the allegations and urged Nigerians to disregard the claims.

“Just ignore his lies. It’s bad to say such things on someone that is dead,” he added.

His remarks were in response to a passage in a book by former DSS operative Amachree, which claimed that General Abacha died in the early hours of the morning while in the company of a woman who had reportedly visited him at the Aso Rock Guest House.
