Suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has threatened to drag the Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamorudeen Ogunlana, to court if she is barred from resuming plenary on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Her warning was contained in a letter dated September 10, signed by her counsel, Chief Michael Numa (SAN).
According to the letter, any attempt by the National Assembly to flout the subsisting court order directing her resumption would be met with legal action.
“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter stated.
The counsel stressed that the refusal to obey the court’s directive violates both the Constitution and the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.
He further warned that the Clerk would be held liable for contempt of court and for “instigating a breach of peace” if the directive is ignored.
“We strongly advise that you reconsider your untenable stance and comply with the Constitution and extant judicial orders,” the letter added.
