Air Peace has announced a temporary suspension of all inbound and outbound flights at its Lagos hub on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in observance of the upcoming local government elections in Lagos State.
The airline disclosed this in a public notice shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday. According to the statement, flight operations will be halted between 3:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. due to government-imposed movement restrictions across the state.
> “We wish to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that there will be no scheduled flight operations into and out of Lagos on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,” the statement read.
Air Peace explained that the suspension was in response to the restriction of movement on roads and waterways as announced by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the elections.
> “Flight operations will resume by 4:00 p.m. the same day, following our regular schedule,” the airline added.
The airline expressed regret over any inconvenience the temporary suspension may cause and assured passengers of a prompt return to normal operations once the restriction is lifted.
Meanwhile, ahead of the elections, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, on Wednesday ordered the deployment of security personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
