Air force jets bomb Zamfara bandits, soldiers take on escapees

Nigeria Air Force jets are currently engaging some notable bandit camps with heavy air bombardments in Zamfara State.

The state Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Dosara, disclosed this as part of the success of the new measures taken by the state government to address the lingering insecurity in the state.

Dosara said, “Some identified camps were destroyed by the Nigerian Air Force, including that of a notable bandit leader known as Dankarami in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of the state, who some months ago, released a video celebrating victory over the Nigerian Army.

“At the same time, Nigerian Army troops are also on the ground neutralising those who managed to escape the air raids through footpaths.

“Based on that, the state government has ordered the immediate closure of all illegal motor parks and roadside markets across the state, especially those on the Kauran Namoda-Jibia Road, Lambar Bakura junction, Kwanar Mayanchi-Anka junction, Garejin Mai Lena as well as Filin Jirgi rice and vegetables market in Gusau metropolis.”

A source at the Zamfara State Government House, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Governor Bello Matawalle was full of joy over the successful operations.

The governor, who is monitoring the successes recorded by the Nigerian Army, called on the good people of Zamfara State to remain calm, law-abiding and go about their normal businesses peacefully.
