AFCON: I’m disappointed to be here – Chelle ahead of Super Eagles clash with Egypt

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has said he is “disappointed” to be playing the third-place game at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Chelle, he was hoping to lead Nigeria out in the final of the competition.

The three-time champions lost 4-2 via penalties to host Morocco in their semi-final on Wednesday.

They will now take Egypt for the bronze medal on Saturday.

“To be honest with you, I’m disappointed to be here,” Chelle told reporters.

“I had great ambitions for this tournament.

“After we lost to Morocco, I told my players to keep their heads up, as they had a great tournament.

“My players have told me to do the same [for Saturday’s game].”
