ADC Rejects Northern Agenda Claims as Presidential Candidate Accuses Party Leadership of Regional Bias

The Interim National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has dismissed the claims that the party is working for the interest of northern Nigeria.

Abdullahi made this rebutal on Sunday’s edition of ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.

UGAMATV recalls that the 2023 presidential candidate of the ADC, Dumebi Kachikwu, had accused the coalition floated under the platform of the ADC of pursuing a northern agenda.

Kachikwu also alleged that the ADC was plotting to return power to the north.

Responding, Abdullahi described the claims as unfounded, lambasting Kachikwu and saying he should be ashamed of himself.

The spokesman also highlighted some key members of the party who are from the southern region, a scenario that, according to him, reflects the national spread of the coalition.

He further said that the government was trying to cause divisions in the party, stressing that the ADC was aware and working to counter the moves.

“ADC is a party, and we said this from day one, it’s neither a party of the North nor of the South.

“It’s neither a party of Muslims nor of Christians. It’s neither a party for old people, so it’s a party that is deliberately designed to develop and build the kind of future that Nigeria desires,” he said.
