Adamawa Police Command deploys 1,207 personnel for Sallah

The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed 1,207 personnel to secure citizens over the period of Sallah celebration.

The personnel are to enhance visibility policing across the 21 local government areas of the State and prevent crime while people go about feasting in the spirit of the season.

According to a statement made available to newsmen Tuesday morning by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu, ordered frequent surveillance and visibility policing across the State, especially at the start of Sallah on Wednesday or Thursday.

“The CP enjoins citizens to go about the celebrations without any fear or apprehension,” the police statement said.

It added that the Divisional Police officers (DPOs), Operational Commanders and their supervisory Area commanders had been directed to ensure the safety and security of the public.

“The Strategic Officers will strengthen the visibility policing structure and carry out confidence building patrols particularly around residential areas, major highways and Government/Private infrastructures to prevent and arrest any urgly situation,” he added.
