Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu seeks swift prosecution of prison escapee who murdered human rights volunteer in Delta

Activist Harrison Gwamnishu, has called on the suspected serial k!ller and prison escapee who m8rdered a human right volunteer, Christabel Aminu Egedefe.

 

 

While lauding the swift action taken by the Delta State Police Command in arresting the suspect, Gwamnishu urged for his immediate trial and prosecution.

 

“Our human rights volunteer Christabel Aminu, resident of Agbor, Delta State, was tragically m8rdered in her home by a prison escapee, Micheal Ezeuwali. While I appreciate the swift efforts of the Delta State Police Command in arresting the suspect, I respectfully appeal that he be promptly charged to court to face justice for his crime,” he wrote in a post on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

 

LIB reported that Christabel was m8rdered in her apartment in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

 

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident said that the suspect, known as Michael Ezenwai, was apprehended by the Agbor police division of the state on October 24, 2025, while he was attempting to sell the victim’s stolen phone.

 

 

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to murdering her during a robbery at her residence on 23rd October 2025.

 

 

Investigations have since confirmed that Ezenwai is a serial offender and one of the inmates who escaped from the Oko Correctional Centre during the 2020 EndSARS jailbreak.

 

 

Ezenwai was linked to multiple violent crimes, including a 2020 r@pe and m8rder case involving a UNIBEN student, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.
