Governor Okezie Ikpeazu will commission the Immaculate Heart Avenue Umungasi Aba in Osisioma Local Government Area of the state on Friday.

He will also inspect ongoing road projects within the Aba area of the state.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the state’s Commissioner for Information.

According to Kalu: “In continuation of his ‘Kinetic Abia’ project inspection and commissioning programme, Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, will commission Immaculate Heart Avenue, Umungasi Aba in Osisioma Local Government Area on Friday, 9th July, 2021, at 1pm, and later inspect ongoing road projects within Aba municipality.”

In view of the scheduled commissioning, the state government invited the following personalities to accompany Ikpeazu.

Those invited include: Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, and members of the state executive council; members representing Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo and Aba North/South Federal Constituencies at the National Assembly; Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Enyinnaya Orji, and members of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly and members of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) led by Hon. Michael Ibe.

Others are State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere; members of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers led by HRM Eze Joseph Nwabekee; State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Apostle Emma Agomuo and members of the clergy; and leaders of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the state.

President and members of Aba Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture, and Aba Sports Club; Chairman and members of Aba Landlords Association; leaders and members of transport unions in Aba; and State Chairman and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) were also invited.
