*A remarkable life Of Service : Respected Community Leader Ichie Omego John Chukwuobasi Celebrated in Emotional Farewell*

 

In a poignant funeral ceremony that celebrated his remarkable life and enduring legacy the body of late Ichie Omego John Chukwuobasi, a revered community leader and philanthropist, was laid to rest on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025,

Born in 1935 to the family of Late Ikechukwu Chukwuobasi of Enuguogwuokpala village, John Chukwuobasi was remembered as a dedicated farmer, skilled building engineer, and a pillar of the Obeagu community.

Throughout his lifetime, he was known for his industrious nature, exceptional craftsmanship, and unwavering commitment to family and community development.

The funeral proceedings commenced with a solemn Catholic Mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Obeagu, followed by the interment at his residence in Agbani Obeagu,
The ceremony was a vibrant celebration of his life, featuring traditional music, masquerade performances, and a rich display of local and continental delicacies.

Family members shared heartfelt tributes that painted a picture of a compassionate and principled man. Mr. Emeka Chukwuobasi, the eldest son, described his father as a “good and generous man whose life was worthy of emulation.” His brother, Mr. Friday Chukwuobasi, emphasized his father’s peaceful nature, while Mr. Nkemanugwo Christopher, a close relative, remembered him as a “lovely fellow.”

Whilee daughters Mrs. Oby Okolo and Mrs. Ogochukwu Agu delivered emotional tributes that underscored their father’s significant influence.

The late Ichie Omego’s life was marked by his marriage to Lolo Sussan Chukwuobasi, a union blessed with seven children. His professional achievements as a farmer and building engineer were matched by his profound impact on community development.

 

Tributes from friends and associates continued to pour in, highlighting Chukwuobasi’s integrity, leadership, and the profound respect he commanded within the community.

The funeral ceremony stood as a testament to a life well-lived, celebrating the remarkable journey of a man who dedicated himself to his family, profession, and community.

Ichie Omego John Chukwuobasi passed on at the age of 90 and is survived by his wife, seven children, numerous relatives, and community members who will continue to honor his memory and legacy.
