A Life of Faith, Family and Service: Lady Oby Nwokeabia Marks 70 Years in Thanksgiving

OJI RIVER, Enugu State — Joy, thanksgiving, and heartfelt tributes filled Umueze Okpuno, Enugu Enuguakwukwo, Achi, in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, as family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the 70th birthday of Lady Oby Nwokeabia, a matriarch widely admired for her devotion to family, faith, and community service.

The milestone celebration was marked by prayers, soulful music, and moments of reflection, as guests took turns to honour a woman whose life, they said, has been defined by love, sacrifice, and enduring values. The atmosphere was one of gratitude to God for seven decades of impactful living and the legacy Lady Nwokeabia continues to build.

Speaking during the event, family members described the celebrant as a woman of strength, wisdom, and compassion whose influence has positively shaped generations. Her children and grandchildren paid glowing tributes, highlighting her role as a nurturing mother, grandmother, and unifying force within the Nwokeabia family.

Her sons, Mr. Nwokeabia Chukwudi and Mr. Ifeanyi Nwokeabia, expressed profound appreciation for their mother’s unwavering support, discipline, and prayers, which they said laid the foundation for their personal and professional growth. Her daughter, Mrs. Nneka Joel Okoli, described her as a constant source of inspiration and a symbol of unity whose counsel continues to guide the family.

Also speaking, her granddaughter, Miss Onyinyechi Joel Okoli, praised Lady Nwokeabia’s kindness, wisdom, and the enduring legacy of love she has passed down. Her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gloria Nwokeabia, commended the celebrant for her humility, warmth, and motherly acceptance, noting that she embodies the true essence of family.

The celebration featured thanksgiving prayers and reflective moments that underscored God’s faithfulness over the past 70 years. Many guests described the event as a powerful testimony to a fulfilled life anchored on strong family values, faith, and selfless service.
