The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has congratulated Chief Ikeje Asogwa on his decisive victory in the Enugu North Senatorial by-election, describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the people.

In a goodwill message conveyed through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Okolo said the landslide win reflects the growing dominance of the APC across Enugu State and the confidence reposed in Asogwa’s leadership.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Asogwa polled 162,360 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nestor Ezeme of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 9,299 votes.

Reacting to the development, Okolo described the victory as “a clear and undeniable mandate,” noting that it highlights both the political strength of the APC and the credibility of Asogwa as a trusted representative.

He further hailed the senator-elect as a “people’s champion,” expressing confidence that his emergence will strengthen ties with the federal government and attract meaningful development to the district.

Okolo reaffirmed the support of Awgu Local Government and urged Asogwa to sustain his commitment to effective representation and the welfare of the people.
