The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Enugu State, **Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo**, has been conferred with the prestigious **Medals Excellence Award for Outstanding Local Government Chairmen (MEXA 2025)** in recognition of his outstanding contributions to grassroots development, human empowerment, and transparent governance.

The award, presented by *The Medals Magazine* in collaboration with the **MEXA Nomination Committee**, is one of Nigeria’s most respected honors for local government leadership. Hon. Okolo’s selection followed a rigorous evaluation process, which included positive public feedback and notable national media coverage, particularly a feature in *The Punch Newspaper* spotlighting his achievements in Awgu.

Despite operating within limited financial and infrastructural resources, Hon. Okolo has implemented numerous people-focused projects aimed at transforming rural communities. As part of the MEXA program, Hon.
