Renowned business mogul, philanthropist, and award-winning contractor, High Chief Uche Nzekwe, was honoured in grand style as he marked his 60th birthday anniversary in a colourful celebration that drew dignitaries from across Nigeria.
The landmark event, held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, also featured a thanksgiving to God for the successful completion of his residence in Enugu Urban—a moment observed with reverence, though deliberately understated to allow the milestone birthday celebration to take centre stage.
High Chief Nzekwe, a native of Ichida in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of U.U. Cheson Investment Company West Africa Limited, a construction giant widely respected for delivering high-quality infrastructural projects across Nigeria, particularly in the South-East.
His company boasts an impressive portfolio, including the construction of a world-class 400-capacity student hostel at the Enugu State College of Education Technical (ESCET), alongside numerous road projects executed for both state and federal governments. His strategic investment in one of the largest asphalt plants in the region, located in Enugu State, has further positioned the company as a key driver of infrastructural development and economic growth.
The celebration attracted an array of guests, including family members, traditional rulers, political associates, business partners, and community leaders, all gathered to honour a man whose contributions to development and humanity continue to resonate widely.
Proceedings began in a lively and culturally rich atmosphere, with guests treated to captivating displays that reflected the heritage of Ichida. The event featured vibrant masquerade performances, rhythmic ogene music, and energetic dance displays, creating an ambiance of unity, joy, and cultural pride.
In an emotional tribute, his daughter, Chioma Nzekwe, expressed gratitude to God for her father’s life, describing him as a loving and supportive figure whose guidance remains a pillar of strength to the family.
Also speaking, his in-law, Tochukwu Okeke, commended the celebrant’s humility, generosity, and commitment to family unity, offering prayers for continued success and long life.
Community stakeholders also paid glowing tributes. Chief Paul Ezekwe described him as a respected personality whose leadership and kindness have touched many lives, while Chief Columbus Mbah highlighted his wisdom, humility, and strong interpersonal relationships as qualities that have earned him admiration both within and beyond his community.
The thanksgiving session for the completion of his Enugu residence featured prayers and expressions of gratitude to God, symbolizing a moment of reflection on a life marked by achievement, resilience, and divine favour.
A major highlight of the occasion was the outpouring of tributes from friends, associates, and well-wishers, who described High Chief Nzekwe as a visionary leader, philanthropist, and peace-loving figure committed to the progress of his people.
As the celebration drew to a close, guests were lavishly entertained in an atmosphere filled with music, cultural splendour, and goodwill, offering prayers for many more years of health, prosperity, and continued impact.
