29-year-old married teacher charged with child sex crimes against student after turning herself in

A high school teacher in Georgia, United States of America, has been arrested on suspicion of m0lesting a student at her school, authorities have confirmed.

Danielle Weaver, 29, turned herself in to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office after an arrest warrant was issued earlier this week. She has been charged with child m0lestation and improper s3xual contact.

The allegations were first reported to law enforcement on February 3 by officials at Lee County High School. Police have identified the alleged victim as a student under the age of 18. While the exact age has not been publicly disclosed, local reports suggest the student may be 15.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) launched a probe following the report. An arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday, February 17, and Weaver surrendered to authorities the following day. She was later released on a $50,000 bond, according to local media.

In a statement, the Lee County School System confirmed that the teacher had resigned from her position. School officials said they acted immediately upon learning of the allegations to safeguard students.

“We can confirm that there is an ongoing legal investigation involving law enforcement concerning the alleged conduct of a former staff member who is no longer working for the district,” the statement said. The district added that individuals directly affected had been contacted and that it would continue to cooperate fully with investigators.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing. Once completed, the case file will be forwarded to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review and potential prosecution. No further details have been released at this time.
