25 YEAR OLD MAN, arrested over killing of brother for money ritual

Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State have arrested three suspects including a 25-year-old man, lsmaila Saliu, who allegedly murdered his brother for money ritual.

Ismaila allegedly connived with an herbalist, Ahmed Nkwe, 44, and one other suspect to slaughter his 14-year-old sibling, Azeez Saliu, on a farm, in Kosubosu, headquarters of Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

The Public Relations Officer, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, Babawale Afolabi, in a statement on Saturday said the incident happened last Monday when Ismaila tricked Azeez to the farm and killed him.

 He said, “On Monday September 13, 2021, operatives of the NSCDC in Kosubosu divisional office got a distress call from a neighbourhood about suspicious movement of certain individuals in their area. Some officers in the divisional office with operatives of the anti-vandal patrol team in the area swung into action and subsequently arrested an herbalist Ahmed Nkwe, 44, lsmaila Saliu 25 and Saliu Ahmed, 30.”

“The suspects lured the victim to the farm where he was gruesomely murdered by his own brother, lsmail Saliu. Luck later ran out of the suspects as they were rounded up by the operatives of the NSCDC on their way back from the farm. The prime suspect, who is the brother of the deceased, has confessed to have personally slaughtered his brother with the help of the herbalist and one other person.”

The spokesperson for the state Commandant of the corps, Mr lskil Makinde, had ordered that the suspects be handed over to the police for further investigations.
