Ohanaeze youth council on Monday has supported the statement made by former military President, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, on Arise Tv on redirecting Nigerians on the right track as they search for the country’s next President.
Stating that Several politicians, including former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, All Progressives Congress, APC, national leader, Bola Tinubu are considered to be nursing ambition to succeed incumbent President, Muhammdu Buhari.
The former military President, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, who sopke on Arise stated that “Nigerians should watch out for candidates in their sixties who understand the nation’s deepest problems.”

“Nigeria’s next President must be a good Nigerian leader, must be a person who is well travelled across Nigeria, must be someone who has friends everywhere, must be very versed in Economics.
“Must be a good politician, he should be able to ‘talk’ to Nigerians, he should be in his sixties who understands the country’s deepest problems.”
Reacting in a statement, signed by OYC President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike stated that IBB had sent a clear signal to expired politicians.
Stating that all the old politicians lining up to succeed Buhari should bury their ambition or the youths will bury it for them.
Stressing that what Nigerian needs is a young, vibrant, energetic and economically sound Nigerian to face the uphill task of repairing the already wrecked economic fortunes of this country,”
“We have always said that we are no longer going to allow expired politicians to lead this country. We are all witnesses to how the incumbent President, Buhari declared openly that his capacity is being limited by age.
“So, not again will we entrust the fortune over the 200 million Nigerians into the hands of anyone whose age limit will pose any form of barrier, and that is why we are in sync with IBB.
“All the old politicians lining up to succeed Buhari should bury their ambition or the youths will bury it for them.
“We need a young, vibrant, energetic and economically sound Nigerian to face the uphill task of repairing the already wrecked economic fortunes of this country,” the OYC said.
It added that in collaboration with other ethnic nationality youth groups, “we have commenced an aggressive search for a Nigerian that fits into the qualities above, and very soon, we shall unveil such a person to Nigerians.”
