2023: Northern youths lament Buhari’s leadership, seek support for Tambuwal

A group under the aegis of Northern Youths for Tambuwal has lamented the situation of the country under the current regime, saying it is steeped in “corruption, mismanagement, maladministration and favouritism.”

NYT, which is also rooting for the emergence of the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, said this on Saturday, while addressing journalists in Gombe, stressing that the country was in need of “a strong, dynamic, viable and a virile leadership that will propel the country to compete with other developed nations.”

Speaking on behalf of the group, North-East Coordinator, Ibrahim Inuwa, said despite the overwhelming human and natural resources, Nigeria suffered from infrastructural deficit.

Inuwa said, “The current system has inflicted so much injuries and hardship on the lives of people which resulted in inhumane practices and social vices in the society, and this is not unconnected with anti-masses policies of the administration.

“However, all this happened as a result of corruption, mismanagement, maladministration, favoritism and lack of the country at heart to bring the desired system that the people aspired for. People are left in a state of dilemma without a functional education, health system, agriculture and functional infrastructural facilities that will culminate in a sound economic system.”

While commenting on the choice of Tambuwal, the group urged Peoples Democratic Party, to deliver the party’s ticket to the former Speaker, adding that the region’s population would determine if the party would win the 2023 presidential election.
