10 states, FCT report 78 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths

10 states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 78 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, according to figures released on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The health agency reported two COVID-19 related deaths.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Facebook page on Monday.

Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 22 cases followed by Kaduna -12, FCT – 10, Benue – 9, Imo – 8, Akwa Ibom – 4, Delta – 4, Kano – 4, Jigawa – 3, Plateau – 1 and Rivers – 1

The health agency said the 78 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 207,694.

However, 195,274 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With two COVID-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from the virus is 2,747, NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
