Tragedy Strikes as Husband Kills Wife in Benin

A man simply identified as Esosa Imasuen has reportedly killed his wife, Chinwedu Nnadozie, in Benin City.

UGAMATV gathered that the incident happened at Oza Street in the Ogbelaka area of the Sakponba road axis of the state capital.

It was gathered that the man assaulted the mother of three and inflicted injuries on her following a misunderstanding between them.

A source close to the family said she was rushed to the hospital for treatment when she was diagnosed by the doctor as having internal bleeding as a result of the beating.

Speaking on the incident, the father of the deceased, Everistus Nnadoze, said he was called that his son-in-law, Esosa Imasuen, had beaten her daughter and left her with serious injuries.

“They said he took her to the hospital where a doctor was said to have carried out some tests on her, and the result showed that she had internal bleeding”, he said.

He said she later gave up the ghost at the hospital before he could reach her, adding that he was not able to see her corpse.

They said Imasuen took her corpse to an undisclosed mortuary alone. ”I went to his house, they said he had absconded”.

He said he had been calling the son-in-law to come and show him the mortuary where his daughter’s corpse was, but he had not shown up.

When contacted, the Edo command’s spokesperson said he had contacted many police stations in Benin and none of them had received such a report.
