Commercial activities were closed down in Enugu State on Monday, August 9, 2021, following the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB in solidarity for the release of its leader, Mazi, Nnamdi Kanu from detention
Activities came to a standstill in the state capital as residents deserted its streets and roads in compliance with the sit-at-home order.
It could be recalled that the indigenous people of Biafra( IPOB), through its Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, had said the human and vehicular movement would be restricted across the Biafran land every Monday, starting from today, 9th of August, 2021 until Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is released unconditionally from detention

Ugamatv correspondent who monitored the sit at home at the Enugu metropolis gathered that commercial banks, schools, fuel stations, shops, markets, malls, were all shut down. There was no vehicular movement in the state metropolis, streets totally deserted.

Meanwhile Military armed men with patrol vehicles were seen moving around the major street of Enugu with Few Keke drivers plying the roads charging desperate passengers high fare for instance; Obiagu to Agbani road, 1000 naira.
