Safety First: FCTA to Build More Bus Terminals to Curb One-Chance Crimes

Additional bus terminals will be constructed in Bwari and Gwagwalada areas by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA.
This is part of efforts to safeguard commuters from one-chance criminal operators within the FCT and Satellite Towns.

Less than one year after the projects were awarded, the projects in Mabushi and Kugbo are ready for inauguration, while that of the Central Area is ongoing.
However, the Minister also cautioned against the indiscriminate boarding of taxis and vehicles, while urging commuters to use the terminals when fully operational.

Wike disclosed the construction of additional bus terminals during the inspection of the dualisation of Ushafa to War College and Check Point Road project, in the Bwari Area Council and the Abuja International Conference Centre, on Saturday.

He said: “We have agreed that we are going to construct one bus terminal in Gwagwalada and another in Bwari.
“This will enable people to board a taxi or bus from Bwari down to the city, either to the Mabushi Bus Terminal, Kugbo Terminal, or Central Area Bus Terminal, and the same thing applies to Gwagwalada.

“You can now go to any bus terminal, board a taxi, and go wherever you want to go without the fear of becoming a victim of “one chance”.
