President Tinubu Makes Decisions Alone, Not Influenced by Cabal – Minister

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is not under the influence of any cabal or shadowy inner circle, asserting that the president independently makes informed decisions based on the national interest.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, May 22, at the All Progressives Congress (APC) national summit themed “Renewed Hope Agenda: The Journey So Far,” Idris said President Tinubu maintains an open-door approach to diverse viewpoints but ultimately exercises sole authority in decision-making.

“You need to study the president very well. You can have your voice; you can say what you want to say; he will listen to you, but his decision is ultimately his own. I think it’s important for us to recognise that,” the minister said.

According to the minister, Tinubu assumed office at a time when Nigeria was at a critical crossroads and responded decisively by removing petrol and foreign exchange subsidies. He said these subsidies had long drained the country’s resources and stifled progress.Nigerian home decor ideas

He also spoke on the government’s “Nigeria First” policy, which mandates federal ministries, departments, and agencies to prioritize Nigerian-made goods, services, and expertise in public procurement. He said the policy aims to accelerate industrialisation, foster local production, and shield the economy from global economic shocks.

Earlier at the summit, the Progressive Governors Forum formally endorsed Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 elections. The announcement was made by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who chairs the forum.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also addressed the summit, declaring that Tinubu should not only be the APC’s candidate but the consensus choice for the entire country in the next election.
