In a powerful show of solidarity and political affirmation, the Enugu State Patriots — a group of respected citizens and stakeholders — have thrown their full support behind Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, declaring him not just a political leader but a movement in himself.
The communiqué was issued at the conclusion of a high-level consultative meeting held at the Banquet Hall of Villa Toscana Hotels, Independence Layout, Enugu, on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
In the strongly worded statement titled “Peter Mbah is Our Party,” the group praised Governor Mbah for what they described as “unprecedented, people-focused governance,” detailing a series of landmark projects completed or underway across sectors ranging from education, healthcare, agriculture, security, infrastructure, and aviation.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF A CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF THE ENUGU STATE PATRIOTS HELD ON THIS 3RD DAY OF AUGUST 2025 AT THE BANQUET HALL OF VILLA TOSCANA HOTELS, INDEPENDENCE LAYOUT, ENUGU.
“Peter Mbah is Our Party”
Well-meaning citizens of Enugu State under the aegis of the Enugu State Patriots met on this 3rd day of August 2025 to review the trajectory of governance under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, especially in view of the evolving national political landscape.
After extensive deliberations marked by deep reflections, pragmatism, and underscored by the interest of Ndi Enugu, we resolved to issue the following communique:
1. Enugu State Patriots have reviewed the performance of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the Governor of our dear state in the past two years and two months. We are happy to unequivocally state that he has shone like a million stars and established himself as a poster boy of people-oriented governance at the subnational level. With about 2,000 ongoing and completed projects across the state and across sectors, he has stamped his authority as a man, who came prepared to the business of governance.
The completed and ongoing projects include: The 260 Smart Green Schools totaling 6,500 new classrooms; the 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centre totaling 3,300 beds; the ongoing 260 units of 200-hectre Farm Estates across the 260 political wards of Enugu State; his magic touch that raised water production from 2 million litres a day to 120 million litres a day; the completion of the over 5,000-capacity Enugu International Conference Centre; revamping of Hotel Presidential Enugu and Nigergas, the ongoing rehabilitation of the long forgotten Sunrise Flour Mills; the restoration of United Enugu Palm Products Limited; the construction of over 800km of roads across the urban and rural areas, ongoing dualisation of over 40km Enugu-Opi-Nsukka Road; ongoing construction of 40km Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu-Neke-Ikem Road; ongoing dualisation of Enugu-Abakaliki Road; the building of the New Enugu City, and successful setting up of a mega asphalt plant at Emene, Enugu.
Others include, the launch of Enugu Air with three planes, which now makes it possible for Ndi Enugu to go their business in Lagos or Abuja and return the same day; the building of five mega modern Transport Terminals at Holy Ghost, Enugu, Nsukka, Abakpa, and Gariki; the 200 CNG BRT buses with modern bus stops to complement them; the establishment of the Nortra Tractor Assembly Plant and Service Centre by ODK Group, Denmark; the Haire Factory for the manufacture of ICT and instructional equipment like tablets, and the ongoing construction of the 300-bed Enugu International Hospital and the Enugu International Conference 5-Star Hotel both of which will be commissioned before the end of the year.
Of course, we cannot forget to mention the marvelous work he has done in the area of security where he not only stamped out the menace of sit-at-home and their criminal enforcers, but also constructed the largest and most sophisticated Command and Control Centre in Nigeria as of today, connected it to AI-enabled cameras he installed across the state for full surveillance and synchronised the Centre with over 150 security vehicles all fitted with state-of-the art cameras, just to name a few, there is no doubt that Governor Mbah has won the heart of Ndi Enugu. These are just to mention but a few.
Importantly, even the President, the Vice President, and federal ministers, who are of a different party have variously confessed the unprecedented massive achievements of Governor Mbah in just two.
2. We acknowledge the longstanding relationship between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the South East in general and Enugu State in particular since 1998. During this period, the region and Ndi Enugu have given the PDP their total support and have equally derived some benefits from the party in terms of development projects and political opportunities.
3. Nevertheless, we make bold to say that with Governor Peter Mbah’s exceptional performance, he has become a viable political party of his own. He is the political party we know and wherever he leads, Ndi Enugu will follow.
Therefore, there is no doubt that his second term as Governor of Enugu State is sacrosanct, by God’s grace, in order to continue with the great job, he is doing. Our people are more interested in his vision to grow the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion in eight.
4. Besides, his second tenure is further assured by the well-entrenched zoning arrangement in Enugu State that ensures that power rotates from one zone to the other every eight years. This arrangement produced His Excellency, former Governor Chimaroke Nnamani from Enugu East Senatorial Zone (1999 to 2007), His Excellency, former Governor Sullivan Chime from Enugu West (2007 to 2015), and His Excellency, former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi from Enugu North (2015 to 2023), thus setting the stage for Enugu East’s return to the Lion Building through Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in 2023.
Long live Enugu State. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
