Nwoye’s impeachment followed due process, says Enugu APC youth leader

THE Youth Leader of the Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Joshua Mamah has said the impeachment of former caretaker committee chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye, followed due process.

Forty -two out of 56 members of the state executive committee of the party on Tuesday, last week, passed a vote of no confidence on Nwoye and subsequently removed him from office. Nwoye has however dismissed the exercise as a sham.

Subsequently, the youth and women wing of the party loyal to the embattled chairman passed a vote of confidence on Nwoye and accused the SEC members, especially, the youth leader, Mamah, of being paid sponsored by some party chieftains to remove him.

Mamah, in a statement on Tuesday, said, “Ben Nwoye printed ‘fake’ ward congress result sheets at a business centre and passed them off as authentic result sheets to his followers. This is an illegal act that should warrant his expulsion from the party and criminal prosecution.”
